Donald Trump has been in office for one week, but a new Quinnipiac University poll has found that former President Obama has vaulted into a tie with Ronald Reagan as the best president of the last 70 years.

Battle lines drawn on ObamaCare repeal

Democrats and Republicans are honing their lines of attack for a battle over ObamaCare repeal that is likely to consume Washington for much of the year.

The messaging war started in earnest Wednesday on Capitol Hill, where Democrats and Republicans huddled in separate meetings to discuss strategy.

Vice President-elect Mike Pence met with both House and Senate Republicans, and emphasized that repeal of ObamaCare will be the first order of business for Republicans under President-elect Donald Trump.

Without Obamacare, 52 million Americans could be denied insurance

One in four non-elderly adults has a medical condition, ranging from diabetes to pregnancy to severe obesity to arthritis, that would make them uninsurable under the health coverage rules that prevailed before the Affordable Care Act, according to a new study.

Before President Obama's signature health-care law took effect, insurers could deny coverage to people buying individual health plans or charge them higher rates based on their health history, occupation or the medications they took. Through one of the law's most popular provisions, insurers can't deny people coverage — and the factors they use to determine people's premiums are extremely limited.

Mr. President, on behalf of an ungrateful nation, thank you

I’ve never written a column like this. Readers rarely believe it, but I am not on any political team. Generosity toward the high and mighty isn’t among my few virtues. But this needs to be said: Americans are lucky to have Barack Obama as president and we should wake up and appreciate it while we can.

President Obama will go down in history as an extraordinary president, probably a great one. He will have done this in era that doesn’t aggrandize leaders and presidents, but shrinks them. All presidents have had profound opposition, vicious enemies and colossal failures. A few were beloved and others deeply respected in their day, but none in the modern era and certainly not Obama.
