Will County Children's Advocacy Center earns $75,000 grant to help victims

The grant will allow the CAC to build on the Child Sexual Exploitation Coalition it established with previous grant money to develop a countywide response to child sexual exploitation, help expand law enforcement’s accessibility to the CAC and its services, and develop a public service campaign to raise awareness about child sexual exploitation. 

Last month, the CAC opened an office in Steger to provide more convenient access to counseling services for residents in the eastern part of Will County.

Glasgow established the CAC as a nonprofit charitable organization in 1995 to improve the investigations of cases involving the sexual and physical abuse of children. Victims are able to take advantage of services such as child-sensitive interviews for law enforcement purposes, counseling, medical exams, legal advocacy and community resource referrals. Interviews have led to the prosecution of thousands of child predators over the past two decades.
