Will County launches jobs program for veterans

“Waste Management is proud to make this donation to Will County in the name of Lee Addleman, a great man who served his country, was a valued Waste Management employee and a friend to everyone he met,” said Dale Hoekstra, Waste Management’s director of operations, who presented the check to County Executive Larry Walsh.

The company has pledged to donate $50,000 more in each of the next two years, at which time the program will be re-evaluated.

The Workforce Services Division will identify veteran-friendly employers and work with Joliet Junior College, Lewis University, Governors State University and the University of St. Francis as well as the state and veterans organizations to refer vets to the program, according to Pat Fera, manager of the Workforce Services Division.
