Study shows Will County a leader in job growth

The study released in December by the Illinois Department of Employment Services highlights private sector job growth in the Chicago metropolitan area of 1.4 percent, or 48,145 new jobs, between March 2016 and March 2017.

Will County had the biggest percentage growth at 5.9 percent, or 11,207 jobs, in the five counties where employment increased. 

The largest growth in numbers of jobs was in Cook County, which added 22,280 jobs for 1 percent growth. Will County ranked second in numbers of jobs added.
