Will County voters will be selecting a number of countywide leaders when they head to the polls Nov. 6.
In addition to county executive and state's attorney, voters will elect a coroner, recorder of deeds, circuit clerk and auditor. All six countywide races are contested and some even feature rematches between candidates who squared off four years ago.
Will County Coroner Patrick O'Neil is running for his fifth term in office against former deputy coroner Charles Lyons. O'Neil faced Lyons as a challenger four years ago as well.

Will County
County Chief Executive: Larry Walsh, the Democratic incumbent, has been an effective leader, boosting economic development and improving governmental efficiency in one of the fastest-growing counties in the state. One of his signature accomplishments: improving the county's bond rating. Walsh faces a formidable opponent in Republican Cory Singer, of Frankfort, president of the Will County Forest Preserve District, who says he won't increase property taxes and will push to establish small-business incubators in the county. We like Singer, but Walsh has the track record of accomplishment here. He is endorsed.
