Will County Democrats have appointed two candidates to run for the Will County board in the November election.
In District 2, Donald Keane, of Frankfort, will challenge Republicans Jim Moustis, of Frankfort, the board’s Republican caucus chair, and Cory Singer, a former board member who lost his bid for county executive in 2012. Current board member David Izzo, R-Tinley Park, is not seeking re-election.
Appointing Plainfield resident Sheila Raddatz, a teacher, to fill one vacancy in District 5, will increase incumbent Democrat Reed Bible’s and Raddatz’s chances of getting elected, he said. They will run against a single Republican candidate, Darren Bennefield, who recently was appointed to that seat after board member Lee Ann Goodson, resigned.
