Jesse Jackson Jr. ‘thought about’ leaving politics, source says

Sneed hears U.S. Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., whom Sneed exclusively disclosed was being treated at the Mayo Clinic, has considered pulling the plug on his political career.

“He’s thought about it,” said a Sneed source familiar with Jackson’s sorry state, suffering from depression and stomach disorders.

'She said Drew had told her he was going to kill her'

Kathleen Savio's sister glared at Drew Peterson from the witness stand Friday. Later, her face and voice tightened as she recalled learning from Peterson that her sister was dead.

But in sharing a conversation she had with Savio just six weeks before her drowning, Anna Marie Doman spoke calmly and without emotion, like someone who had told the story time and again.

"She was afraid," Doman said. "She said Drew had told her he was going to kill her. She wasn't going to make it to the divorce settlement, and she wasn't going to get his pension or the kids."

Will County says it is pushing forward on airport

The airport has been debated for decades and in recent years Will County has been vying with U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr., D-Chicago, and his Abraham Lincoln National Airport Coalition (ALNAC) for control of the project. With Jackson on an medical leave and controversy swirling around Montreal-based SNC-Lavalin, the company Jackson and ALNAC picked to build the airport, Will County officials believe they are in the best position to push the project forward.
