Will County Board Republicans broke state law, Illinois attorney general says - Friday, May 30, 2008

The Illinois attorney general has ruled that Will County Board Republicans violated state law when they elected Forest Preserve District President Cory Singer (R-Frankfort) at their Feb. 27 caucus.

"[T]hose Republican board members who voted by secret ballot on Feb. 27th did so in clear violation and disregard of the Illinois Open Meetings Act," attorney Heather Kimmons of the state's attorney general's office, wrote in a May 21 letter to the Forest Preserve District attorney.
