Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Ruby Lofton. Ruby was a strong Democrat and a stalwart member of our organization. She served as First and Second Vice Chair of the Will County Democrat Central Committee, Executive Board member for the Illinois Democratic Women of Will County, a founding member of the Will County Democratic Black Caucus, and an elected precinct committee person for decades. Since the age of 15, when she knocked on doors in her native Mississippi, Ruby Lofton devoted herself to making her community safer, stronger, and more inclusive. Ruby was a good friend to all and will be missed by those who had the pleasure to know her.
